Theme | The eResearch Outlook: Impact, Sustainability and Excellence

We look forward to welcoming you back to Queenstown in 2018 for the 9th Annual eResearch NZ Conference! 
This year we have a new theme - but have kept the same four streams designed with a specific segment of the Research Community in mind: 

  • Strategic Executive - Gather key stakeholders to work together to achieve a combined focus for digital transformation in research
  • Research Innovation - Using peer to peer sharing of innovative work practices to influence research communities nationally
  • Research IT Technical - Building awareness and engagement with IT practitioners involved in the Research Community
  • Early Career Researchers - Helping researchers in their analyses by encouraging sharing practices with fellow researchers, and an opportunity for professional development and mentoring.

Aims

eResearch NZ, as a national forum for discussion, aims to:

  • Promote shared approaches to supporting eResearch needs, across institutions and disciplines
  • Highlight current and emerging research priorities and discuss how eResearch can enable Research, including by drawing on experience from other regions where similar activities are further progressed and where these initiatives might translate to meet NZ research needs
  • Share work in progress and outcomes from projects and programmes employing related technologies, platforms, and approaches.

Victoria University of Wellington

The 3rd New Zealand eResearch Symposium will be held at Victoria University of Wellington, on Wednesday 4th - Friday 6th July, 2012. It is New Zealand's event to celebrate and strengthen the use of technology within research of all disciplines.

University of Otago, Dunedin

NZ eResearch Symposium 2011 will be held at The University of Otago, Dunedin on Thursday 30 June – Friday 1 July 2011. Please mark these dates in your calendar and start making arrangements.

The 1st New Zealand eResearch Symposium will be held in the Owen G Glenn Building, at The University of Auckland, on 26-27th of October, 2010. 

eResearch works with and supports research communities, looking for approaches and insights that can apply across research disciplines, including the humanities and social sciences, physical and biological sciences, math and engineering.  It includes the computing and software platforms that connect equipment, data, and other computing resources with people, along with collections management, platforms to run experiments, and advanced collaboration tools.  eResearch communities thrive on deep engagement with researchers, and aim to support the formation and operation of effective digitally-supported research communities.
